Letter from the Principal

July 10, 2013 by Susan Armendariz

Dear Alumni and Friends of Nativity School,

It is with an abundance of joy that I share these end-of-the-year thoughts with you.

The 2012-2013 school year was truly an exciting year for the Nativity School community as we gathered in various school activities throughout the year giving witness of God’s true love and compassion.

As we close upon another successful school year we can’t help but think and be grateful to all the individuals who helped make it a special one.  We are grateful for the Catholic Education Foundation, the Success Through Education Program, and our Sponsor-A-Student supporters who make it possible for many of our students to attend a school where children and their families are surrounded by people who share their faith and value the importance of obtaining a quality education.

We think of and extend our appreciation to our school board members who believe in the mission of Nativity and who serve as our ambassadors by sharing all the good work that is fulfilled daily at our school.  We are very grateful for their encouragement of our initiatives and of the curricular path that we are taking towards enhancing student learning through the use of technology.

We are thankful for our parents who continue to choose Nativity as their children’s home away from home and who continue to invest in the hope and promise of a Catholic education.

Personally, I am thankful for our teachers and staff who, on a daily basis, give themselves to their vocation as Catholic school educators and faithfully work together to nurture and build our school community to ensure the success of all students with the goal of fostering a caring, challenging, and nurturing learning environment to allow each student the opportunity to grow in their faith and academic studies.

Thank you once again for all of your generous support.  We are especially grateful for all the good thoughts and prayers that were offered for our school community throughout the school year.  It is because of God’s good graces that Nativity School continues to be a place in which families are able to send their children to learn in a faith-filled, peaceful learning environment that offsets all the negative influences that are present in the neighborhood in which Nativity is located.

Let us pray that the Nativity of Our Blessed Lord continue to inspire us and fill us with renewed energy, faith, wonder, and commitment to make the upcoming 2013-2014 school year another remarkable one.

Blessings,

Antonio Felix, Principal
