Beacon of Hope Inspiration Gala

October 12, 2012 by Nativity

Bishop Joe Sartoris accepts Nativity’s 2012 “Beacon of Hope” award for his lifelong service to the children and families in South Los Angeles at Nativity’s first-annual Beacon of Hope fundraising gala from Nativity alum Brenda Vasquez, a sophomore nursing student at Mount St. Mary’s. One hundred and fifty guests came out on September 22nd to enjoy an inspiring evening and honor this man of God who has been a guiding light to so many. Guests dined to the music of celebrated acoustic guitarist Luke Thomas, and afterward were treated to a special musical performance by the enthusiastic Nativity Chorale, led by teachers Ambar Valencia and Megan Kinsella. The highlight of the evening was a very special short film, created by Nativity’s newest board member Leslie Sanchez, which spotlights the impact Nativity makes on the children and families of this community.

Thank you to all our supporters who made this evening possible, including our sponsors: The Specialty Family Foundation, The Hale Thornhill Foundation and Leslie Sanchez & Impacto Productions. Special thanks also goes to Bishop Joe Sartoris, Jill Buyan, John Watkins, Dely Villanueva, Fr. Francis Mendoza, Jeff & Cecelia Assaf, Laura & John Saade, Ken & Denise Kilroy, Stephen Maloney, Ron & Anne Hansen, Kevin McCardle, Janet & Michael Feeley, Michael & Teresa Molina, Danny & Stacey Amos, Jackie Brooks, Sr. Judy Malosky, Alice Palermo, Anna Shirley, Joe Lumarda and Mary Hernandez.
