Two More Nativity Teachers Are Now Award-Winning

September 9, 2012 by Susan Armendariz

Once again the Educational Consortium of Central Los Angeles (ECCLA) has singled out Nativity teachers for recognition of excellence! In May, ECCLA awarded L.A. Math Initiative Outstanding Achievement Awards to first grade teacher Ambar Valencia (left) for Highest Progress through Games and fifth grade teacher Megan Kinsella (right) for Highest Attendance in the Math Lab. “It’s so great to be recognized for the progress we’ve made with our students,” noted Ms. Valencia. Both teachers credit the innovative and effective ST Math computer program for greatly improving their students’ proficiency and interest in math. In fact, Ms. Valencia’s class’ progress has been measured at an astounding 89%, while Ms. Kinsella credits her students’ high attendance to the success and confidence they feel when they master their math problems, which makes them look forward to school.
