Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading with the theme: Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers. This nationwide observance coincides with the birthday of Dr Seuss on March 2, who is known for writing children’s books. Nativity celebrated with various reading activities and events. Each day was themed from wearing fun hats and crazy socks to students dressing up as their favorite book Characters and bringing a copy of their favorite book to share. The week ended with a family picnic and guest readers visiting classrooms to read to students.
A BIG thank you to special guest readers, Board Member Allyson Simpson, Donor Friends Elizabeth O’Neal, Mary Ellen Niederhofer, Anne Gumm and Student Council Members Camila and Daniel.
