Catholic Schools’ Week – Jan. 29 to Feb. 2

This week Catholic schools throughout the United States will be celebrating Catholic Schools’ Week. At Nativity, there will be themes for each day throughout the week that focus on the mission of Catholic Schools. See photos on our Facebook Page, Nativity School Los Angeles or click on links provided below. We hope our celebration of Catholic Schools’ Week will be rewarding and enjoyable for all.

Monday 

  • Activity: “Catholic Schools’ Week Kick Off Rally” – At 1:30 p.m. in the church plaza, all honor student as well as those who participate in extra curricular school related activities such as sports and clubs will be recognized. 
  • Prayer Service let by 4th Grade and 1st Grade at 10:30 a.m. Parents welcome.
  • What to Wear: Students are encouraged to wear class colors – free dress if you wear the class color shirt:             TK-Lavender, Kinder-Pink, 1st-Yellow, 2nd-Light Blue, 3rd-Green, 4th-Red, 5th-Forest Green, 6th-Purple,            7th-Orange, 8th-Navy Blue

Tuesday 

  • Activity: “Literacy Day” – The older students will be reading books to the younger students.
  • Time: 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • What to Wear: Twins Day! Students can dress the same as other classmates.

Wednesday

  • Activity: “Career Day” – A special presentation will given by the police and fire departments.
  • Time: 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • What to Wear: “College/Career Day.” – Students may wear a sweatshirt or jersey of their favorite college or university. Students may also opt to come dressed in the attire of their future career (i.e., fireman, police officer, layer, doctor, teacher, artist, etc.).

Thursday

  • Activity: “Family Picnic Day” – This year our “Family Picnic Day” theme will be: “Hawaiian Luau.” We would like to invite all parents to accompany their children in the family picnic which will be held in the primary grade building and the upper grade playground. The event may be postponed if it rains. The upper grade playground will NOT be available for parking as it will be used for the picnic setup.
  • Time:  12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • What to Wear: Students and parents are encouraged to wear “Hawaiian Luau attire.” Students may wear their “Hawaiian Luau” clothing throughout the day.

Friday

  • Activity: “Talent Show” – In the auditorium, Nativity students will be showing us their talent. Due to space restrictions, parents of the talent show participants will be the only ones admitted to see the performances.
  • Time:  10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • What to Wear: Students may wear free dress with a $1 donation for the talent show.

Lunes

  • Actividad: “Rally de la semana de las Escuelas Católicas”. En la plaza de la iglesia, todos los estudiantes de honor y estudiantes que participan en actividades relacionadas con la escuela extracurricular, como deportes y clubes, serán reconocidos.
  • Hora: 1:30pm
  • Vestuario: Se les pide a los estudiantes usar el color de su grado, pueden venir en ropa libra si usan la camisa de color de la clase:

                     TK – Lila                  K – Rosa           1st – Amarillo               2nd – Azul claro     

                     3rd – Verde             4th – Rojo           5th – Verde bosque     6th – Morado 

                     7th – Naranjado      8th – Azul marino

Martes

  • Actividad: Día de Lectura — Los estudiantes mayores leerán libros a los estudiantes más jóvenes.
  • Hora:  1:45 pm. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Vestuario: “Día gemelos”: estudiantes pueden vestirse igual que otros compañeros.

Miércoles.

  • Actividad: “Día de Profesional” — Una presentación especial será dada por la policía y el departamento de bomberos.
  • Hora: 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
  • Vestuario: “Día universitario/profesional”: Estudiantes pueden usar una sudadera o jersey de su universidad o colegio favorito. Los estudiantes también pueden optar por venir vestidos con el atuendo de su futura carrera (es decir, bombero, oficial de policía, abogado, médico, maestro, artista, etc.).

Jueves

  • Actividad: “Día de Picnic Familiar” — El tema del “Día de Picnic Familiar” de este año será: “Estilo Hawaiano.” Nos gustaría invitar a todos los padres a acompañar a sus hijos en el picnic familiar que se llevará a cabo en el edificio de primaria, en la yarda del estacionamiento y en la plaza de la iglesia a las 12:00 p.m. a  1:00 p.m. El evento puede posponerse si llueve.El patio de juegos de grado superior NO estará disponible para estacionamiento debido a que nuestras familias estarán alli. 
  • Hora: 12:00pm to 1:00pm 
  • Vestuario: Se aconseja a los estudiantes y padres a usar “vestimento hawaiana luau”. Los estudiantes pueden usar su ropa “Hawaiian Luau” durante el día.

Viernes

  • Actividad: Show de talentos — En el auditorio, los estudiantes de Nativity nos mostrarán su talento. Debido a restricciones de espacio, los padres de los participantes en el show de talentos serán los únicos admitidos para ver las actuaciones.
  • Hora: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Vestuario: Los estudiantes pueden venir en ropa libre con una donación de $1 para el concurso de talentos.
